Mirabilia Violet

I decided to change from the Mediterranean mermaid (just too many boring colors) to a project that would give me some color therapy. So, I have stayed within my own boundaries (no new start till I have a finish-which was my haunted mermaid round robin)..and this gives me some outstanding colors and fabric to work on. I have bought 3 different fabrics for Violet but have begun on OD-Linen, 28 count, Masquerade. The fabric is an amazing dye pattern...LOVE IT...I couldn't wait to share it. So, this is my new Saturday Mirabilia rotation. Fun...fun...fun.-Oh, Mother, I am going to send you the mermaid..you can have her. :)

Mirabilia with the least done

Maybe I can get the last two on one as not to steal too much web space from my sister stitchers.

Waiting for Ships

Oldest WIP in collection...hmmmmm, maybe this should be the focal piece

Magnolia

WIP Magnolia...

Mirabilia Tree of Hope

WIP-good place to begin the rotation so I can keep track of progress.

Mirabilia Stitch Along Idea

I like the idea of actually finishing a Mirabilia or two. Talked to the Maiden about the rotation idea. Since I have 5 already in progress that makes the perfect set up. I tried to upload how far I am on each picture but it is bogging down the machine and not really working..so we shall see. I'm not sure how to decide what to do first so maybe some advice on that would be good. I have:
1. Waiting for Ships #35
2. Tree of Hope #109
3. Magnolia Spring Garden-Pixie Couture #133
4. Mediterranean Mermaid #102
5. Summer in My Garden #50

I am least done on #4 and #5...I will try and post some of the images if I can get it to work.

SAL Crone?

I have been toying with the idea of a Mirabilia Year (she does comprise over half of my WIP list!). I think a rotation is in order: 5 Mirabilia, each one day per week, and a 2 day break for misc stitching (this day can be used to stitch a Mirabilia if a stride has been hit). Once a Mirabilia has been completed, the open day can be assigned to one of the remaining projects. My chosen rotation, which was no easy task, will look like this:

Sunday- Mermaid of Atlantis

Monday- Venetian Opulence

Tuesday- Sabrina

Wednesday- The Kiss

Thursday- OFF

Friday- Lilac

Saturday- OFF

I am going to try this for one month to see if I like it, wish me luck! Crone, you mentioned that you have 5 Mirabilia going right now, want to join the madness? The Maiden

A Haunting Mermaid

My finish on the second to the last round robin. I received this on February 2nd and was able to get my part done by the 13th.
I may have to ask the Maiden to do my last round robin for the houses when they arrive. The Haunting Mermaid cross stitch was done on over-dyed linen known as Vintage Sand Dune, 32 count. I like the one-over-one component in the mirror and her mouth. I am glad I had some practice on one-over-one on Rain Rain, so that I would be prepared for this one. I had fun on the 32 count...I don't think it will ever be my favorite, but I did like it a lot. So this is considered a "finish" for me, so I guess I can potentially start yet another project....

Stargazer

The cross stitch that began it all...

Wandering into a little store called Stitchers Paradise one afternoon, having no idea the obsession that was about to be born, I purchased my first cross stitch project, Stargazer by Mirabilia. Sure, I had stitched the odd cat in my youth, but I had not held a needle in over 10 years. After many nights of stitching in front of a warm fire after the baby I had nannied was asleep Stargazer was finished. Framed by The Crone as a gift for my 28th Birthday. The Maiden

Mermaid of Atlantis

The Curse of the Mermaid Continues! I picked this up again this weekend, for what I hoped was the last time, and was stymied again! I ran out of a krenic and decided in my frustration to use one from my stash that was slightly off and then the pattern substitution I wanted to do (a compass for the coat of arms) would not fit in the space I had left. I flailed around a bit and finally settled on a seahorse substitution, but the colors are all off so I think I am going to have to get creative. Once again I have put this cross stitch aside, but hope to return to it soon, all that is left is the corner element and beading. The Maiden
