Cursed CrossStitch

Here lies my next project....
This is the first Mermaid I began and it has sat untouched for almost a year as I completed 2 others. The Crone Supplied the pattern and the threads and inspired by the Mermaids of our circle I decided to give it a shot. This project is far from an easy stitch, there are multiple color changes in very small areas. After completing the fish and the light I began the bouquet and discovered that a Krenic the project called for did not exist. Frustrated I jumped around a bit until finally giving up and abandoning the project. I returned to it a few days ago in my frenzy to complete the multitude of projects I have started and the frustration continues. I have posted the project in the state I found it and will post again in a week. I have since completed her hair, but after pulling the final color (it was a waterlily that was fuchsia), replacing it with a blend, pulling it again, replacing it with a substitute, pulling it again and finally realizing that it was the brown DMC that I did not like I gave up. The picture shows dark hair, not brown with fuchsia highlights! I will replace the colors but need the experts advice so off to the cross stitch store I go. Maybe if I pick up the beads I will be motivated to continue working on the project... The Maiden

WIP

My Biscornu design...I've started to stitch it, but the pictures didn't come out....so I posted the design. "Venetian Opulence" is still in its beginning stages. I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am the the crest in the middle is completed. It doesn't look that big but with all of the subtle gold shades that are in it, it took forever.
3 1/2 lighthouses down.....2 1/2 to go.

Just a thought

I realized "Stargazer" has never been posted. That is a must do.

Easter Parade

Stitched on 32ct OD Linen, color is Legacy. This piece reminds me of the only surviving gift my biological father gave to me. I received a pink bunny with large floppy ears when I was four and promptly named it Carol (seriously). I dragged my bunny Carol everywhere, and she has the stitch marks and fading to prove it! Just in time for Easter I present Easter Parade by Blackbird Designs. The Maiden

Mermaid Madness

Stitched on 32ct Belfast linen. Color is Vintage Antique Green. Total stitch time: 4 weeks

Mediterranean Mermaid is the second mermaid in my collection, but it will not be my last! This project was a really easy stitch and progressed rapidly. The beading took an entire week, and true to my nature was one of the changes I made to this piece. I omitted some of the beads, mainly the clear ones, to prevent the piece from looking too Gaudy. I was also disappointed in her hair color, a more mousy brown. So I stitched it in black silk instead, blending the richer brown with the black in areas around the blue.

My Biscornu

So, I decided that I would try my hand at this biscornu business....and as if I need yet another type of project to get hooked on, it was awesome. Quick and easy, the hardest part was sewing on the button in the center. One of the sites I visited said to do a button on the top and bottom. I think I will try that on my next one. I also found a bunch of scissor fob's , and after fishing my embroidery scissors out of the couch cushions 43 times today, that is next on my project list.
