Stashing Saturday

Didn't I  mention I  was  stashing like there was a Stitchers Apocalypse?
The Mother found this OOP chart for me and I was so excited!
I bought Snow Angel to match Halloween Resurrection.

Who can resist a cat tart?

I love little house needleworks hometown holidays! I had to limit myself to pie diner, bookstore, florist,  railway station and sweet shop but there will be more to come!

As soon as I can obtain the threads this Twin Sampler will get a start!

Ghoul Tidings ties things up!

Finish Friday First

I pushed so hard to finish this project and now I feel so forlorn at it's completion!
Let it Snow by Barbara Ana Designs stitched on 28ct Jobelan Dusty Green.

I modified the flower in the vase, the charted version was 2 large blooms and I thought it was too heavy for the tip of a scissor!

I love the detail of the tiny pair of scissors she holds.

Finish Friday

I currently have 40 WIPs, am stashing like there is a stitchers apocalypse and have recently come across a series of projects that will take years of focus to complete (more on that later). As my primary focus will be this mystery project I have devised a plan to rotate in other WIPs.

Finish Friday was born from the idea that I will work on the project in my pile that is closest to completion.

Next Friday I will resurrect the Kiss for beading and then plan to tackle Night Creatures.

Swiftly Done

A Taylor Swift obsessed coworker has a birthday this week so I was asked to cross stitch something inspired by her latest video. It's an inside joke really, because I loathe this song, so "look what you made me do" is appropriate!
Designed using elements from Hinzeit's Last Stitch Cemetery and Alessandra Adelaide's Bat Banner (over one).

Snip Snip

I have reached the halfway point on Let it Snow by Barbara Ana Designs and am really loving the change of pace from all that Halloween stitching! It has also been fun to dust everything in Snow!
I was going to rechart this to read 2017 as the date, but then I realized by flipping 2 numbers I could make it my birth year!

Switching Holidays

The mother started this earlier in the year and somehow I missed this project entirely! The Nutcraker by CloudsFactory is well on it's way to a finish!

New addition to the Gossip

According to Spernatural Collective Nouns a group of Mermaids is called a Gossip!
The Crone has been busy preparing her guest bathroom for a new addition to her household, her oldest grandaughter!

With the Mother's daughter comes the mermaid made for her!

Spooky Sentiment

Happy Halloween from the Maiden, Mother and Crone!

Sirena Verde è Finita!

That awkward moment when you need to bead the project you were using to avoid beeding another larger Mirabilia!
The fabric is a hand painted belfast 32ct, but I unfortunately cannot find the name. It has a green cast not immediately evident that looks like floating seaweed.
I kitted this Mermaid completely from my stash, so a few beads were substituted to accomodate. Also, I omitted the red coral strands and headress (I felt it would make her look like an angler fish!)

Spooky Stitching (across) States

The Crone started her Halloween Quaker this weekend too! I love that she randomly started at the opposite side, that way we can see a preview of what is to come!
The Mother joined in the fun with a conversion of Mirabilia's Mermaids of the Deep Blue. This was such a fast stitch for me, I know she will fly through this project, which is good because I cannot wait to see them in Orange! The Maiden

Spooky Stitching

October Friday the 13th stitching was so productive and fun I  think I will need to make this a tradition!
I had originally taken the day off for the Las Vegas Mirabilia retreat, and when  that  was  canceled I decided to take a "mental health day." (Can you tell I grew up with counselor parents? When I was young those 3 words would get me out of school no questions asked!)
The Crone and I jumped on the bandwagon and are doing a SAL for the Halloween Quaker, what better day to start it than on Friday the 13th while watching Halloween Classics?!
I did devote a large portion of my day to Mirabilias, beading the kiss and finishing another portion of my Mystery project. The Maiden

Stitching for Strength

As the community continues to heal our needles continue to stitch.

Here is a sneak peak at a mystery halloween Mirabilia project I have devised (with the Crone's help).

A Tail to Tell

Today I post our 42nd update, the largest posting year since 2012. This milestone marks my return to stitching, and a renewal of the art and friendship that  brought the maiden, mother and the Crone together.

This friendship has seen me through the past 2 decades and has been a source of strength I am grateful for today. While I am the only one left in Las Vegas, the Mother is a native and the Crone built her life here. We are devastated by the tragic events of October 1st, a day that has left it's mark on our city. I am heartened by the response of my neighbors, police, first responders, and world community. We are and will remain Vegas Strong!
I spent the night stitching away with The mother, after visiting our LNS and  enjoying a dinner out. We both  resisted the urge to start   something new and as a  consequence I was able to reach the bottom of my Sirena!
I was also fortunate  enough to spend some time over the weekend  with the Crone in St. George, we stitched away in a hotel room and even found Ghastlies Fabric on sale!
I brought some WIPs to show the crone, and she loved my Barbara Ann design so much that she found this gem from the designer I just had to have! I'll be stitching halloween designs for the next year at this rate!
While at the LNS I also picked up parts 2&3 of Something Wicked by Sam Sarah. I avoid charts that come in parts, but I made an exception for this one! The maiden

Beads, Beads, oh those Beads!

The Center of Rosarium by Chatelaine is completed and ready to be gifted!
Can we talk about those beads?!
Stitched by the nimble hands of the Mother, who now needs a break from Chatelaine's! You will see a few Halloween SALs as we enter October!

Spooky has Risen!

The mother has finished the second chart in the set, only 1 more to go!
I love this so much I may have to stitch it! The Maiden

Sirena Verde

The smallest of my 17 started Mirabilias, Mermaid Verde, was abandoned after 1 day. She swam back into my view as I was searching the horizon for another way to procrastinate beading the Kiss!
This was progress day one, all the color changes were unexpected but I love the final look of her hair! The fates seem to know what I need for there is very little kreinik or beading in this one!
I have upgraded my zip lock bags to these fun plastic zipper bags (found at the container store originally but much cheaper on Amazon!) In the corner you can also see where this project was when I picked it up, after 3 years my WIPs still continue to feel like new starts! The Maiden

Got Leaf?

Beading has begun on the center of The Mother's Rosarium by Chatelaine.

Where's the Pie?

Here it is! (Shameless Supernatural Reference) Stitched on mislabeled 36ct ODLugana Prank. I am so glad this is done, the tiny count made for a not so enjoyable stitch!
You know you have fallen down the Chatelaine Rabbit Hole when you decide to start adding specialty stitches to WIPs to entertain yourself! Modified eyelets on the boarder anyone? The Maiden

A Break?

While it has been hard to stay motivated to finish my largest project to date, I am finally done with all the cross stitching! For the first time in 3 years I will move on to beading and backstitching!

This section highlighted the difference in my stitching from when I started and now, almost 9 years later! I cringe when I see all those sloppy stitches, as I now railroad every one! I also stitch on a frame now, so the tension is very different and my stitches are tighter.

The Crone

We three have been quite busy as Summer comes to an end! The Mother has almost completed cross stitching the center of Chatelaines Rosarium, I have sought a brief respite from my largest project to date The Kiss with Witch's Pie, and the Crone has produced some mixed media art for your enjoyment!
