I finished this tonight. I too was worried that I would run out of time, but I got on a roll and knocked it out. My husband is complaining that I keep putting his projects on the back burner- I believe it is time I taught him how to cross stitch. I can't wait to see you on the 7th (wish Joy could be here too- I really want to see the HAED in progress). Miss and Love you! ~mother

The dog is really hard to see, even in good light. It might be worth backstitching around them- just a thought. I was thinking that once it was finished we could make a final decision. And you were right, Maiden, stitching straight on an angled piece is difficult.
ReplyDeleteI think you are right about the backstitch, it would be good to see what the other animals look like, and I'm glad I wasn't the only one that found this stitching difficult!
ReplyDeleteAlright, I guess I will have to tear myself away from my HAED to work on the owls! I only have half an owl done, but I am driven by some unearthly desire to see the first full page of Pretty done so that I can post.
You should teach your husband to stitch and then we can call him a Manbroider!
I wish I could come out too, but I am sending fabric in my stead! Miss you, The Maiden
I love it...I was telling the maiden the really cool thing about our round robin is that we have all chosen projects that have varying thread types: mine is in silk, the maiden in anchor (which I think the mother will love, I did) and then isn't the mothers in crescents? Very exciting. I am looking forward to the houses...The jury is out on backstitching, I just wonder if we need another thread color instead?
ReplyDeleteThe animals look very subtile in the photo of the finished piece....
