Finally, my WIPocalypse 2012 list is done! There were many more I wanted to add, so hopefully I will make it through all of these and more (I start working again on Jan 8th, so my progress will slow).
1. La Clef by Nimue
I fell in love with this chart the moment I saw it, and am awaiting it's arrival from France. This will be my primary project for 2012.
2. Venetian Opulence by Mirabilia
The second largest project I have added, while the remainder is daunting, I must have her hanging in my home!
3. Mermaids of the Deep Blue by Mirabilia
I had hoped to have this finished by New Year's, but I was distracted by holiday stitching, so it made the list.
4. Lilac by Nora C.
This is so close to being done I felt it would be a good one for the list. My goal is to get my WIPs to a more manageable state!
5. The Garden Ornament by Handwork Samplers
This is a gift I have been promising the Crone for 2 years now, so it must get done. The project is very close, but 36ct over one has proved very challenging!
6. Love Letter by Full Circle
The Crone found this for me in Reno while visiting the Mother, and I knew it was for me the moment I saw it. I started it last night, so technically it is a WIP (he he).
7. Skull Banner by AAN
Wait until you see my fabric... With so many Halloween projects in my stash one had to make it onto the list! I started this at my LNS months ago, but it has sat neglected.

Gift of Hope
The Crone's Christmas gift is complete! True to my nature I procrastinated working on this until the very last minute (I received the Crone's WIP on Thanksgiving, when the idea occurred to us to have me stitch the 2 Maidens, the one aspect that had stalled the Crone's progress). Over the past two days I have been cozied up on the Crone's couch, watching holiday movies (like my favorites "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" and "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir") and spending an astounding 20 hours finishing up the second maiden in a marathon of stitching. The conversation and hot chocolate made it all the better.
Happy Holidays,
The Maiden

Red Skies At Night
We, the Crone and the Maiden, are incredibly excited about joining Measi and hundreds of others who will be participating in the WIPocalypse. Since two of the three of us will be joining (3 blogging buddies, one blog), we weren't sure how to emphasize that when joining...but you will see the two different lists we have for our year of stitching for 2012. We really like the rules of knowing you can change your list, just incase we get farther ahead (or behind) from where we begin. I am putting my update of Red Skies at Night by Mirabilia as my first WIP for the 2012 line-up. I am going to choose six projects (thought of twelve, but thought I will go for one project with two-months each theme)...but of course that could potentially change.
My WIPocalypse list:
1. Red Skies at Night-Mirabilia
2. Tree of Hope-Mirabilia
3. Magnolia- Mirabilia
4. Act Justly (La D Da)-will change the words to "Blackbird Singing in the Dead of Night"
5. Bird of Paradise-Courtney Collection
6. Birds of a Feather-Blackbird Designs (this is truly the one project I would wish to have in my collection and done prior to the potential Big Bang of 2012)
and the newest addition to the list:
7. Violet- Mirabilia
By the way Measi-I am a Reiki Master, and we totally have the same taste in music. Can't wait to see how this year progresses for everyone. The Crone

IHSW A Tail of Two Cities
I cannot believe it is the last IHWS of 2011, where has the year gone? I managed to get the tail of the second mermaid done, the end is in sight! Only the bottom 2 fins left, but they will have to wait while I try to finish the Crone's Christmas present (look for a post at the end of the month).
The Crone is with the Mother in Carson and I miss you both! Happy Holiday's Ren! Hopefully the Crone can convince the Mother to pick up Venetian...

Red Skies At Night ...the Crone
Julie found this great Mirabilia design in the book and sent it to the Maiden, who of course, sent it on to me. It is so me.... I have been working on this for about a week or so, and thought-hell, I might as well post. I really like this. The colors need to be updated, because the dye lots have changed and it makes it almost impossible to find the waves (changed the DMC for a darker contrast). Anyway..thought I would share.

Maiden's Venetian
I have been meaning to post this for a while...
A new friend in my stitching circle took one look at my Venetian and started her the next day. She is a beginner, but learning fast! I hope to return to Venetian in the new year, once MoDB is finished. I am so excited to see some of the blues and greens come into the dress! The Maiden.
