Better late than never...

This piece is by Glendon Place and may be the only one I attempt for the amount of back stitching is outrageous. Stitched on 32ct ODlinen Sudden Storm. It took me one year to complete, although I spent one month back stitching and was distracted by starting 11 other projects!
The graveyard houses my favorite Gothic poets. From left Rossetti, RIP, Tennyson, and Poe. Once framed, an etched cat will join them.
Christina Rossetti for Goblin Market, an obscenely dark and sensual poem for it's time.
Alfred Lord Tennyson for Mariana, a poem about a women who languishes for a lover that never comes, all the while her surroundings slowly decay to mirror her internal suffering.
And Edgar Allan Poe, enough said.
Much more interesting than Grim, Glum, and Gloom.
